Sanaa: Saudi aggression and violations against Yemen warrant response
SANAA, Sept. 10 (YPA) – The Foreign Ministry in Sanaa said continued Saudi aggression and violations of Yemen’s sovereignty warrant a response until Saudi Arabia stops such actions.
In a statement, the ministry stressed that the Sanaa’ Armed Forces are responsible for defending the country’s sovereignty, protecting citizens and responding to sources of fire targeting Yemen and its people. It said continued hostile attacks and military movements cannot go unanswered.
It added that the Saudi enemy’s recent military mobilization inside Yemeni territory required the Yemeni Armed Forces to respond, describing the moves as direct escalation and a flagrant violation of Yemen’s sovereignty. Those who continue military mobilization and aggression, it said, cannot expect Yemen to remain a bystander.
The ministry said the Saudi enemy’s continued outcry was merely an attempt to cover up its ongoing crimes against the Yemeni people and divert attention from its aggressive actions and violations of Yemen’s sovereignty.
It reaffirmed that Yemen has never posed and will not pose a threat to any party, saying its position remains focused on building relations based on mutual respect and good-neighborly ties, away from aggression, hegemony and the imposition of dictates by force.
The ministry also said that, despite the escalation and aggression, Yemen remains prepared to contribute to a regional security framework and protect maritime navigation, provided this is done in partnership with regional coastal states in a manner that safeguards regional security, state sovereignty and the interests of their peoples.
It held the international community responsible for addressing developments objectively rather than ignoring violations and crimes against the Yemeni people, and called on it to compel the Saudi enemy to stop violating Yemen’s sovereignty and halt its military mobilization and aggressive actions.
The ministry concluded that continued aggression and mobilization would not alter Yemen’s determination to defend its territory, sovereignty and citizens, stressing that responsibility for the escalation lies with those who continue the aggression and seek to widen the confrontation.
