SHABWA, June 30 (YPA) – The Islah Party returned the commander of the Ataq clashes during August 2022 to one of its camps in Shabwa Governorate, which observers considered a direct threat to the Emirati factions.
The former Islah Special Forces commander, Abdrabuh La’kab, suddenly appeared at the Aarin camp in the Arma’a area, east of Shabwa, for the first time since the Ataq clashes with the UAE-backed factions, without specifying the nature of the mission for which he had arrived at the camp.
Pro-Islah media reported that the leader “La’kab” arrived at the Aarin camp yesterday, to review the military readiness of the forces that had been assembled at the camp after fleeing Ataq following the UAE-backed factions’ control of the city, storming his home, and looting its contents.
The arrival of the leader “La’kab” to the Arain camp was considered a gradual return to the military scene in Shabwa, especially given Saudi Arabia’s intention to deploy the “Homeland Shield” factions in the governorate
La’kab’s return to the Aarin camp in Shabwa followed similar visits by pro-Saudi leaders in preparation for the gradual deployment of the Saudi-funded “Homeland Shield” operation.
La’kab’s return to the Aarin camp at Saudi Arabia’s behest represents a challenge to the leaders of the Emirati factions, with whom he fought fierce confrontations in the center of Ataq, whereas the Emirati air force was able to resolve the confrontations in favor of his factions after they suffered heavy losses.
