MARIB, June 30 (YPA) – Members of the terrorist Al-Qaeda organization kidnapped dissident leader Mohammed Awadah, known as Akram al-San’ani, along with his wife and children, in the Al-Shabwan area of Wadi Aidah, east of Marib, which is under the control of Saudi-led coalition factions.
According to local sources, the incident occurred on Sunday while Awadah was there to offer condolences for the death of his wife’s mother.
The sources reported that the kidnapping was carried out with the assistance of his wife’s brother, Mustafa al-Iraqi, who is accused of spying for the organization. Al-Iraqi handed them over to al-Qaeda’s so-called “security apparatus” to gain the favor of leader Ibrahim al-Banna.
Further details about the incident have not been disclosed.
Sanaa forces cleared the areas of Yakla, Qayfah, and all of Bayda province’s districts of takfiri terrorist elements affiliated with the coalition in August 2020. The pro-coalition leaders then regrouped and repositioned them in their own training camps in areas controlled by the pro-coalition factions in Marib, Shabwa, and Abyan provinces.
