TEHRAN, June 30 (YPA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry summoned on Monday the Ukrainian Chargé d’Affaires in Tehran over unjustified statements some Ukrainian officials made regarding Israeli and US aggression against Iran.
According to Iranian agencies, Shahram Farsaei, head of the First Eurasia Department at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, delivered a strongly worded protest note to the Ukrainian chargé d’affaires, which included an explicit condemnation of the statements made by Ukrainian officials and their support for the Israeli military aggression.
Farsaei pointed out that Ukraine’s support for what he described as “the military aggression of the Zionist entity” constituted a disregard for Ukraine’s international legal obligations, particularly with regard to respecting the principles and objectives of the UN Charter and the four Geneva Conventions.
He emphasized that these remarks placed the Ukrainian government under international responsibility for the crimes committed by the Zionist entity.
“The Ukrainian chargé d’affaires was also informed of the consequences of the Ukrainian regime’s repeated hostile and provocative positions against Iran,” Farsaei added.
For his part, the Ukrainian chargé d’affaires said, “We will convey Iran’s protest to our government as soon as possible.”
