SOCOTRA, June 18 (YPA) – The UAE has plunged the sons of the Yemeni archipelago of Socotra, located east of the Gulf of Aden, into service and livelihood crises, in addition to flooding the archipelago with drugs.
Saied Al-Rumaili, a human rights activist, said on X that the conditions of the people of Socotra had not changed with the continued presence of Emirati companies ‘the Eastern Triangle and ADNOC’, which overwhelmed citizens with efforts to raise funds to pay off debts for the services they provide.
He pointed out that Emirati companies have exacerbated the suffering of the people of Socotra by seeking to provide their children with the necessary sustenance and isolating them financially.
“It seems we will remain isolated, and no one will pay attention to us until the UAE begins opening its military bases in Samha and Abd al-Kuri to foreign aircraft participating in the wars spreading throughout the region,” Al-Rumaili added.
