Deadly tribal fighting erupts in Shabwa

SHABWA, June 11 (YPA) – Heavy armed clashes broke out on Wednesday in the Al-Saeed district of Shabwa province, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, amid ongoing tribal tensions.

According to local sources, fierce fighting erupted between members of the Al-Salem bin Dahha tribe in the Yashbum area of Al-Saeed district, due to an old tribal dispute.

The sources added that both sides used a wide range of light and medium weaponry, triggering panic among residents and forcing many to remain indoors. There are growing fears that the clashes could spread to neighboring areas.

The incident comes amid growing accusations that the coalition forces are fueling tribal conflicts in the governorate to divert attention from their alleged suspicious agendas, including tightening control over Shabwa and plundering its oil resources.
