HODEIDA, June 11 (YPA) – The Yemeni Red Crescent Society (YRCS)’s branch in Hodeida has distributed emergency food and shelter aid to 14 displaced families affected by fires sparked by reckless use of fireworks during Eid al-Adha celebrations.
The emergency response was carried out with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen rapid response capabilities in crisis situations.
Jaber Al-Razahi, Executive Director of YRCS’s Hodeida branch, said the assistance included food supplies and essential shelter materials, targeting affected families in various districts across the governorate.
He emphasized that such interventions are part of the Society’s broader plan to alleviate the suffering of displaced persons and disaster victims.
He also urged the public to exercise caution when using hazardous items during holidays and celebrations, particularly fireworks, which pose a serious threat to lives and property.
