TAIZ, May 29 (YPA) – The son of merchant Mahyoub Qasim Al-Sharabi was seriously injured in an assassination attempt by gunmen believed to be affiliated with the Islah party in the city of Taiz.
Local sources reported that a number of gunmen attacked Al-Sharabi’s house in Al-Saeed neighborhood in the Osaifrah district and were able to assault his son Walid as he was leaving the house, pointing out that the masked gunmen pursued Walid through the streets and onto the roof of a nearby house.
They confirmed that Al-Sharabi’s son sustained various injuries and required his transfer to an Aden hospital for treatment, indicating that his condition is critical and the perpetrators were not known, and they managed to flee to the Islah camps.
The sources stated that Al-Sharabi was subjected to repeated attacks and extortion during the recent period, which affected his shops in the city.
