Ansarullah official mocks Saudi claims of alleged threat to Mecca
SANAA, Sept. 15 (YPA) – Ansarullah Political Bureau member Hazam Al-Asad mocked on Tuesday the Saudi narrative circulating over alleged targeting of Mecca, saying that using the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques as a political pretext to cover up aggression and the blockade against Yemen no longer deceives anyone.
In a post on his X account, Al-Asad affirmed that the Saudi regime is attempting to seek protection behind the sanctity of Mecca, describing the contradiction as sufficient to expose the falsehood of the narrative.
He stressed that Yemenis are the most committed among the nations to protecting the Two Holy Mosques and their sanctities, citing Yemenis’ historical role in serving the Kaaba and their rejection of offenses against the Quran, Prophet Mohammed and the Kaaba.
Al-Asad sarcastically asked how Yemenis who are committed to protecting the Two Holy Mosques and their sanctities could accept harming them.
He said those who genuinely seek to protect holy sites should not use them as a political cover to justify aggression against a Muslim people.
The Yemeni official pointed to what he described as a contradiction in which Saudi territory has been turned into platforms for aggression and blockade against Yemen, military bases for foreign powers and an open airspace for Israeli occupation’s aircraft, while the Two Holy Mosques are simultaneously invoked as a pretext for justifying escalation against Sanaa.
Addressing Riyadh in a sarcastic and sharply worded message, Al-Asad said: “Lift your blockade and stop your aggression, or fight like men in the fields of men. But hiding behind claims of targeting the holy sites is a ploy that cannot withstand the truth.”
Al-Asad also accused the Saudi authorities of disrespecting the sanctity of holy sites, citing the use of the Kaaba’s covering, or Kiswah, at an event linked to American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.
He called on Riyadh to respond to these allegations rather than using the sanctity of Mecca as a political shield against criticism.
He concluded by stressing that the Two Holy Mosques are too sacred and important to be turned into a political card, saying their sanctity should not be used as a cover for aggression, blockade or justification of political and military conflict.
Al-Asad’s remarks thus presented a political contradiction facing Riyadh: whether protecting the Two Holy Mosques means defending their sanctity or turning their names into a ready-made justification for narratives surrounding escalation against Yemen.
