Security chaos spark tribal mobilization in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, May 29 (YPA) – Several tribes in Hadramout Valley set up on Thursday a protest camp in Al-Qatn area, protesting the escalating security chaos in various districts of the province.

In a rally, the tribes demanded that the violations and assassinations, which targeted a number of their members, must end, the most recent of which was the attempted assassination of Sheikh Hamad Balhamidh Al-Nahdi last Tuesday.

A tribal source in the province reported that tribal sheikhs and dignitaries, including Al-Hamdan, would discuss the unprecedented state of security chaos and repeated violations against civilians by the coalition-backed armed elements, who shot the director of security, Abdullah bin Habish, in the province.

The source explained that the sheikhs would address the issue of the arbitrary detention of witnesses in the case who are still inside the coalition-run prisons, and would adopt an honorable tribal stance that would ensure justice and protect citizens from repeated violations.
