Sanaa’s Defense Minister warns against providing any naval protection for Israeli navigation
SANAA, Mar. 17 (YPA) – Defense Minister in Sanaa government, Major General Mohammed Al-Atifi, on Monday warned parties that support the Israeli entity or seek to provide naval protection for Israeli ships.
Major General Al-Atifi explained that “the fighting will of the Yemeni Armed Forces is at its best and that the available military and logistical capabilities are sufficient to conduct long-term naval battles using new tools and methods that would confuse and astonish enemies.”
He also indicated that intelligence efforts at the national, regional, and international levels have precisely tracked the maritime movements of Israeli ships, and that accurate databases have been compiled on specific targets.
The defense minister emphasized that future operations would take into account the requirements of a comprehensive and effective battle to ensure that the Israeli entity and those who support it are forced to abide by international laws and agreements, including the armistice agreements, which he said Israel has violated despite the guarantees of mediators.
He stated that the US aggression on Yemen, which targeted residential neighborhoods and civilian facilities, clearly reveals its complete bias toward the Israeli entity.
The Israeli occupation is using the blockade as a means of imposing a policy of starvation against civilians in Gaza, as a part of genocide crimes that have continued for 15 months, with comprehensive political and military support and participation from Washington, he added.
Major General Al-Atifi affirmed that Yemen will not cease its support for Gaza and will continue to impose a naval blockade on Israeli ships. He emphasized that Yemen, with its wise leadership and strong will, will remain an impregnable fortress until justice is achieved for the Palestinian people and their suffering, exacerbated by the unjust blockade and the shameful Arab and international silence, is ended.
He said that the current naval operations, which targeted Israeli shipping as a result of its violations of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and its continued blockade of the Strip’s population, have entered a new phase with the expiration of the deadline granted by Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, noting that the Yemeni armed forces have effectively begun imposing a naval blockade on Israeli ships.
The defense minister concluded by renewing the assertion that the armed forces are ready to escalate the confrontation and develop their operations if the Israeli occupation does not retract its siege on Gaza, stressing that the response will be the size of the current challenges and with any emergency developments.
