HADRAMOUT, Aug. 07 (YPA) – The coalition-backed local authorities of Hadramout province launched on Wednesday a fierce attack against Faraj al-Bahsani, a member of the Prudential Leadership Council (PLC)regarding the arrest of Mohammed Omar Al-Yamini, Chief of Staff of the Second Military Region in last March.
Office of UAE-backed Hadramout governor, Mabkhout bin Madi, affirmed in a statement that the accusations made by Al-Bahsani, who is affiliated with the UAE, against Al-Yemini were completely false, adding that Al-Yemini’s case was a security and military matter.
The statement questioned why Al-Bahsani remained silent for the four months following Al-Yemini’s arrest. It considered the timing of Al-Bahsani’s statements raising suspicion.”
The statement acknowledged that Al-Yemini had been subjected to internal investigations for what it described as “disciplinary” violations.
Mohammed Omar Al-Yemini, the Chief of Staff of the Second Region, was arrested after his home was raided by Emirati forces in Mukalla last March, under the direction of the leader Mabkhout bin Madi, appointed by the Saudi-UAE coalition as governor of the province.
In mid-April, the Saudi forces transferred Al-Yemini to Riyadh, where he was investigated by Saudi intelligence. He was released within the past two days. Bin Madi has been detained and banned him from traveling to Hadramout since he was summoned to Riyadh last April.
