Local official kidnapped in Aden

ADEN, March 17 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s factions kidnapped, on Sunday, a local official in the coalition-controlled city of Aden in southern Yemen.

Human rights sources reported that Transitional Council members kidnapped the financial director of the Road Maintenance Fund, Saeed Al-Husseini, after raiding his home in Khor Maksar area, in a dangerous precedent that adds to the record of violations against citizens.

The sources stated that the security forces took Al-Husseini to the so-called “Criminal Investigation” prison due to a report from the fund’s director, Moaeen Al-Mas, indicating that Al-Husseini was released hours after his arrest, but the details of the incident were not revealed.

The kidnapping sparked widespread resentment and anger among residents of Shabwa and Abyan residing in Aden, who viewed the action as a regional targeting by STC elements, amid calls for an end to the factions’ violations.
