11 drivers disappear in mysterious circumstances in Aden

ADEN, Feb. 25 (YPA) – At least 11 drivers from Ibb province, located in central Yemen, were disappeared in mysterious circumstances in the city of Aden, which is under the control of factions loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, human rights sources reported on Monday.

The sources explained that the drivers, who constantly transport passengers using pick-up cars of “Hilux” type on Ibb-Aden road passing through Taiz, became out of contact two days ago.

This incident comes amid accusations directed at the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions of kidnapping the drivers.

According to information transmitted by the sources from other drivers, the sudden disappearance of these drivers occurred after a person believed to be affiliated with the STC collected their personal data in addition to their car plate numbers.

Reports indicated that the kidnapping occurred the day after their data was collected.

The sources reported concern among the families who tried to contact their relatives, but the drivers’ mobile phones were switched off. Fears also increased that the drivers’ relatives would also face the risk of kidnapping while trying to search for the missing in Aden’s secret prisons.
