Armed attack targets STC members in Abyan, leaving 3 injured

ABYAN, Feb. 07 (YPA) – Three members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) were injured in Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen.

Local sources in the governorate stated that unknown gunmen, believed to be affiliated with Al-Qaeda elements, launched an attack with various types of weapons on the positions of the “Second Support and Reinforcement Brigade” in the Omran Valley in the Mudiyah district on Thursday.

The attacks on the STC militias by groups loyal to the Islah Party have intensified since the initiation of the “Eastern Swords” operation in mid-August 2022.
