Sanaa early warning center issues statement about climate change

SANAA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expected on Thursday cold to very cold weather targeting various areas of Yemeni provinces.

In its weather bulletin, the center affirmed that the weather would cold in the areas of Bayda, Amran, Dhamar, Saada, Sanaa, Ibb, Taiz, Mahweet, Hajjah, Rayma, Lahj and Abyan.

According to the center, the coastal areas would be clear to partly cloudy over parts of the Socotra Archipelago, the southern coasts and the adjacent inland areas, with the possibility of scattered light rain, accompanied with strong to moderate winds.

It warned citizens in the mountainous highlands, especially the elderly, children and workers during the late night and early morning hours, of cold weather.

The center called on motorists to drive carefully as a result of the poor horizontal visibility due to the formation of fog or water mist in mountainous areas.
