International highway linking Hadramout to Mahra closed due to rockslide

MAHRA, July 11 (YPA) – The international highway linking Hadramout and Mahra governorates has been closed following a rockslide along the Fartak Mountain tunnel road.

Local sources report that a rockfall on Jabal Fartak—at the Andout curve just beyond the second tunnel (Huswain district side)—has completely blocked the Al-Ghaydah-Huswain-Mukalla highway, halting all traffic.

The road is considered the only route connecting the Sultanate of Oman with Hadramout and the rest of the southern governorates through Mahra.
