UN: “Israel” demolished 1,528 Palestinian facilities in West Bank

NEW YORK, Dec. 02 (YPA) – The United Nations announced that “Israel” has demolished 1,528 Palestinian facilities in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of this year, 2024.

According to data from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on its website, Israeli forces demolished 1,528 Palestinian facilities between January 1 and November 29, and the demolition operations led to the displacement of 3,637 Palestinians and the damage of 163,769 others.

UN documentation stated that the destruction affected 700 inhabited homes, 118 uninhabited homes, 398 agricultural facilities, and 205 livelihood facilities such as stores and other facilities.

Tulkarm camp in the northern West Bank topped the areas targeted for the demolition of 171 facilities and homes, followed by Nour Shams camp in the city of Tulkarm (118), Jenin camp (83), then Jericho (70), then the rest of the West Bank areas in smaller numbers.

Demolition operations have escalated in the West Bank and occupied Quds since the start of the genocidal war waged by the enemy entity against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

The Al-Quds Governorate said, in a statement yesterday, Sunday, that the occupation forces carried out 391 demolition and bulldozing operations of homes and facilities in the governorate since the start of the aggression against Gaza in October 2023.

The occupation forces launch demolition operations of citizens’ homes and confiscate their lands in the West Bank, with the aim of pushing them to leave and displacing them in order to seize their lands for the benefit of the Zionist occupiers.

In parallel with the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the Zionist occupation forces and settlers escalated their attacks against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, killing 800 and wounding 6,450, according to official Palestinian data.
