Serbia opens factory for Israeli drones and multi-billion dollar deals with Tel Aviv

BELGRADE, Sept. 16 (YPA) – Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced, on Thursday, the opening of a factory to assemble advanced Israeli-made drones to supply the Serbian army and the armies of other countries. It will employ about 100 workers, with plans to open three more factories.

Journalists were not allowed to visit the facility due to the secrecy of the production, and Vucic only released limited footage.

The move comes after two deals with the Israeli company Elbit, the first in early 2025 worth $335 million that included artillery and drones, and the second, a massive $1.6 billion deal in August that included long-range missiles, electronic warfare, and cyber surveillance technologies used internally in Serbia.
