ADEN, Dec. 02 (YPA) – the Yemeni Standardization and Metrology Organization (YSMO) affiliated with the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition has rented an office in the city of Aden for more than 14 million Yemeni riyals per month, media sources reported.
It was confirmed that the head of the YSMO, “Hadeed Al-Mas,” signed a contract to rent a new building for the authority, which is a skeletal building, with a monthly rent of 7,000 dollars, equivalent to nearly 14 and a half million Yemeni riyals.
The sources indicated that the authority’s old office was rented for 3,000 dollars, and that the new building is cramped, with one apartment containing five rooms on each floor. Additionally, the cost of relocating the laboratory and other equipment is expected to be very high.
It was noted that the head of the authority secretly rented the new building, rejecting all proposals to stay in the previous office, according to “Al-Omana Net.”
This occurs during a period of economic decline and a financial shortfall at the Aden Central Bank, which has been unable to pay salaries for employees in certain sectors for the third month in a row.
