11,000 Palestinians arrested since Oct 7 in West Bank, Al Quds

WEST BANK, Oct. 03 (YPA) – A number of arrests that the Israeli occupation forces carried out against civilians in the West Bank and occupied city of Al Quds, since October 7, 2023, has risen to more than 11,000 detainees.

Palestinian Prisoners Club, a human rights association, said in a statement on Wednesday that the occupation forces has continued to carry out wide-scale raids and abuse during arrest campaigns, accompanied by severe beatings and threats against detainees and their families.

The statement pointed out that the occupation arrested, during the past 24 hours, 12 Palestinian citizens from the West Bank, including members of the families of the perpetrators of the shooting operation in Yaffa on Tuesday.

According to previous data from the Prisoners Club, the occupation forces have arrested 420 Palestinian women, 740 children, and 108 journalists since October 7, 58 of whom remain detained, while administrative detention orders were issued against 8,872.

The data indicated that the total number of prisoners in the occupation prisons has reached 9,900 detainees; including 98 female citizens, 3,323 administrative prisoners, and 1,612 who have been classified by the occupation as “illegal combatants” from the Gaza Strip.
