Hezbollah mourns senior commander Fouad Shukr

BEIRUT, Aug. 01 (YPA) – Hezbollah has officially confirmed the martyrdom of one of its top commanders in an Israeli airstrike on a Beirut neighborhood on July 30.

Lebanon’s media reported the official confirmation on Wednesday.

Hezbollah issued a statement following the confirmation.

According to the statement, the Secretary-General of the party, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, “will announce the group political position on Thursday regarding this crime during the funeral of the commander Shukr.”

For its part, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said in a statement that the death toll from the Israeli airstrike has risen to 5 people and over 70 others injured.

“The toll includes 5 civilian martyrs, among them 3 women, a girl, and a boy, following the death of one of the injured victims,” the statement read.
