Palestainain resistance forces target Israeli command, destroy Merkava tank in Gaza
GAZA, July 11 (YPA) -Palestinian resistance factions continue to inflict heavy losses on Israeli occupation forces through military operations, ambushes, and direct clashes along the axes of incursion in the Gaza Strip.
In the latest developments, the Al-Qassam Brigades (Hamas) and Al-Quds Brigades (Islamic Jihad) announced on Friday that they carried out a series of strategic operations targeting Israeli occupation forces in Khan Younis and the Al-Tuffah neighborhood.
“Our fighters targeted a “Merkava” tank with a prepositioned, high-explosive ground explosive yesterday in the slaughterhouse area southwest of the city of Khan Younis,” Al-Qassam Brigades said in a brief statement Friday.
Meanwhile, Al-Quds Brigades said in a statement that their fighters shelled a command-and-control headquarters of the Zionist enemy army on top of Jabal Surani east of Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City with rockets.
“Our fighter were able to destroy a D9 Zionist military bulldozer by detonating a barrel explosive device of type “Thaqib” during its incursion last Monday in the Sheikh Nasser area, east of Khan Younis city,” the group said in another statement.
On the other hand, a correspondent for the Israeli Army Radio reported that two Israeli soldiers were wounded overnight after an armored tank was hit by anti-tank missile during a clash in northern Gaza.
