Businessman killed before his wife, children in Sarfit outlet in Mahra

MAHRA, April 24 (YPA) – A Yemeni businessman was killed after being kidnapped at the Sarfit outlet, which is under the control of coalition factions in Al-Mahra governorate, eastern Yemen.

Human rights sources said, “Businessman Akram Ali Nasher Al-Ward was killed under mysterious circumstances after he and his family were arrested by elements loyal to the coalition at the Sarfit crossing on charges of possessing uncirculated currency”.

Al-Ward resisted the officers and was severely beaten and died before being taken to one of the factions’ headquarters, without mentioning the reasons behind his arrest, the sources added.

They also pointed out that the stories presented by those accused of Al-Ward’s death are false and have no connection to the truth, indicating that it is impossible for a man to leave his wife and children to jump out of the car, according to the officers’ allegations.

Al-Ward family demanded that the body be examined by a forensic doctor to uncover the circumstances of the death.
