STC hints at thwarting peace efforts in Yemen

ADEN, Sept. 16 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Transitional Council (STC) has threatened to thwart peace efforts in Yemen, calling for guarantees of secession in order to participate in the upcoming negotiations.

The STC said, in a statement issued on Friday, that “it reaffirms its keenness to reach a comprehensive, inclusive, and sustainable political process with a precondition-free dialogue to ensure that all issues are addressed and resolved at the forefront of which is the cause of the people of the South”.

The statement called for developing a special negotiating framework to resolve the southern cause  as a basis for starting peace efforts.
