LAHJ, Sept.03 (YPA) – Unknown persons on Saturday stormed and looted three public schools in the Al-Wahd area of Tuban district in Lahj province, southern Yemen.
Local sources in Al-Wahd said that unknown persons looted the windows of the “Iqbal School” for Girls for Basic Education in Al-Wahd, coinciding with the start of the new school year.
The sources pointed out that the school administration was surprised that 60 aluminum windows in the school were stolen.
A system of batteries and solar panels from the “Amjerba Basic Education School” and the ” Kindergarten” in the same district were also robbed, which they had received from organizations as support for the two schools.
The parents were surprised that the thieves were able to loot the school and take out the looted contents from the three schools on the same day and pass through the security checkpoints of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional (STC), without lifting a finger, in a hint of its involvement in the robbery.
