Sanaa forces allow Saudi-backed military commanders to leave Taiz for Aden

TAIZ, Oct. 22 (YPA) – Sanaa forces allowed several military commanders affiliated with Saudi-backed forces to leave Taiz city for Aden, southern Yemen, on Wednesday, carrying their personal weapons, sources familiar with the matter reported.

According to the sources, those who left included Abdulhakim Dukum, chief of staff of the so-called Fifth Presidential Guard Brigade, who reportedly left carrying his personal weapon without being stopped.

Another was Asim Hamoud Al-Asbahi, an officer in the so-called 145th Brigade and the son of its chief of staff. Sanaa forces have not confirmed the reports.

According to the sources, the commanders took the Al-Dhabab–Al-Bireen road, passing through Al-Turbah and the Karbat al-Sahhi area before reaching Tur Al-Baha district in Lahj province.

The departures came after Khaled Al-Uzaibi, a tribal sheikh and prominent figure from Mocha, returned home in recent days. He had been staying in Taiz city after being arbitrarily detained there by Tariq Afash early this year.
