Al-Sabiha tribes continue to mobilize against STC militias in Lahj

LHAJ, June 26 (YPA) – Al-Sabiha tribes of Lahj province have continued to mobilize against the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the province, southern Yemen.

Sources familiar with the matter reported that dozens of armed tribes gathered on Monday on the road leading to the city of Aden, heading towards Salah al-Din Airport in the Buraiqa area.

The sources said that the gathering of tribal gunmen came after calls from the sheikhs of the Lahj tribes to discuss developments of differences with the factions of the STC militias about the Salah al-Din Airport’s incident in Aden.

Last week, violent armed confrontations had erupted between al-Sabiha tribes and the STC factions against the backdrop of the STC’s robbery of the airport floor.
