STC escalates its attack against Judicial Council in Aden

ADEN, Aug. 05 (YPA) – The Southern Transitional Council (STC)-affiliated Judges Club in Aden, in coordination with the General Union of Administrative Employees in the Judicial Authority, called for a protest tomorrow, Wednesday, in rejection of the tampering by the Judicial Council in the coalition-affiliated government.

A statement issued by the club confirmed that the protest is against what it described as “the tampering taking place in the Supreme Judicial Council,” the accompanying deviation from the proper judicial path, and the neglect of the conditions of judges and administrators, without settling their situations and depriving them of the most basic legitimate rights.

The statement explained that the protest comes in the context of what it called “correcting the course within the judicial institution” and stopping deliberate exclusion and neglect.

In the statement, the club called on the coalition-affiliated government to take action to implement urgent reforms in the judiciary to achieve justice within the institution itself before demanding it outside it.

The statement stressed the Judges’ Club’s adherence to the legitimate rights of all workers in the judiciary, calling on everyone to adhere to a sense of responsibility and participate actively in the protest as a peaceful means of expressing their demands.

The escalation against the Judicial Council in Aden comes within the context of the Transitional Council’s tendency to control various state institutions through demonstrations and protests organized by its affiliated civil society organizations.
