Islah militants brutally torture citizen in Taiz

TAIZ, June 23 (YPA) – An armed gang affiliated with Islah factions loyal to Saudi-led coalition brutally tortured a citizen in the middle of a street in Taiz province, southwestern Yemen.

Human rights sources said on Friday  that the gang consists of seven gunmen intercepted citizen Fawaz Al-Buraihi  and beaten him brutally in the middle of the street in the neighborhood of Amad in Al-Mudhaffar district,

They also fired at him and fled,  the sources added.

The sources confirmed that the gang affiliated with the leader Yousef Abdullah Hamid left Al-Buraihi unconscious on the side of the road, after they believed that he is died, but citizens had taken him to a hospital for treatment, without revealing the reasons.

The sources explained that medical reports showed that Al-Buraihi suffered a fracture in the spine, damage to the kidney and colon and tearing the intestine.

Al-Buraihi is still in a coma and his health condition is serious.

This comes after citizen Adel Al-Majeedi survived an abduction attempt last Sunday by an armed gang led by Ahmed Sadiq Al-Shujaa and four gunmen next to him after he received a call from an unknown person asking him to come  to meet him near a hotel in Al-Moughtarebeen Street to receive a message from one of his relatives.
