HADRAMOUT, Nov. 05 (YPA) – UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias reiterated the removal of the forces of the “First Military Region” from the districts of Wadi Hadramout, eastern Yemen.
A statement issued by the STC on the occasion of the third anniversary of the so-called “Riyadh-formed Agreement that signed on November 5, 2019, following the confrontations in the city of Aden, stressed the need to complete the implementation of the terms of the agreement and expelling Islah militants from Wadi Hadramout.
The STC warned against continuing to disrupt the terms of the agreement, stressing that this would “exacerbate tensions and crises whose consequences could not be tolerated, referring to taking a more escalating option towards Islah militants.
It demanded the completion of the appointment of the governors of the southern provinces and other officials, and the activation of the fight against corruption.
The Riyadh-run agreement signed between the STC and the coalition-backed government stipulated with the return of Islah militants to their previous positions before August 19, 2019, and the collection and transfer of weapons from all the militants in Aden within 15 days of signing the agreement, to camps inside the city.
The agreement stressed the transfer of all Islah military forces and the STC militia factions in Aden to camps outside the city, to be determined by the leadership of the coalition, within 30 days from the date of signing the agreement, with the exception of presidential protection.
The two signatories to the agreement committed to depositing the tax and customs revenues in the coalition-held provinces in the Bank of Aden, while the Yemeni oil and gas revenues are looted by the coalition and deposited in the National Bank of Saudi Arabia.
