Taliban says it has thwarted smuggling of 14 kg of gold to Dubai

KABUL, Aug. 18 (YPA) – The government of the “Taliban” movement in Afghanistan announced on Thursday that border guards officers managed to thwart the smuggling of 14 kilograms of gold to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The “Taliban” said in a tweet on “Twitter”: “Border Guard officers of the Ministry of Interior at Kabul International Airport thwart the smuggling of 14 kilograms of pure gold to Dubai.” Dubai is considered the first haven for wealth smuggling and money laundering, as the UAE authorities help criminals to evade security prosecutions on charges of corruption, looting of public funds and wealth smuggling, in addition to that its laws allow commercial exchange and transfers suspicious of money laundering to and from Dubai with a certain percentage of returns.     YPA
