TAIZ, Jul. 20 (YPA) – A senior leader loyal to Saudi-led coalition was assassinated on Wednesday by Islah militants, while another security commander survived an assassination attempt in Taiz province, southwest Yemen, local sources said.
According to the sources, Abdo Haidar Alqadasi, the Salafist leader affiliated with “Abu Al-Abbas” Brigades, who is also an officer in the “35th Armored Brigade”, was killed at a military post at the entrance to the city of al-Turbah, while going to visit some of his colleagues in the al-Khadahah front
Islah gunmen disarmed Alqadai before he was shot dead, one of the sources said.
Abu Al-Abbas’s supporters accused Islah militants of being involved in the murder of Alqadasi.
In the context of insecurity and the liquidation among pro-coalition armed factions in Taiz province, Captain Akram Abdullah Alzaiem, director of the Al-Hasbs police station, survived an assassination attempt following an explosion an improvised explosive device was planted in his car.
