FM: Coalition prevents arrival of air navigation equipment to Sanaa Airport
SANAA, Dec. 23 (YPA) – Foreign Minister in Sanaa government, Hisham Sharaf, on Thursday revealed that the Saudi-led coalition had prevented the arrival of equipment and devices of Sanaa International Airport a year ago.
in a statement to the Russian “Sputnik Agency”, Sharaf said “To ensure the safety of civil aviation traffic to and from Sanaa, the civil aviation authorities in the Republic of Yemen requested a number of devices and equipment of a civilian nature.”
The Foreign Minister added that those devices and equipment were imported and under the supervision and knowledge of the United Nations, and that equipment arrived in Djibouti more than a year ago, but the leadership of the Saudi-Emirati coalition did not allow them to be transferred to Sanaa airport.
Sharaf noted that Saudi Arabia and the UAE deliberately target the Sanaa airport in an effort to cause any air disaster at the airport, with the aim of blaming the National Salvation Government and pushing all international organizations not to use the airport.
He affirmed that “the recruitment of air navigation equipment is a normal and routine matter for Sanaa Airport to carry out its duties now and upon its reopening to commercial and civil flights.”
