Iran’s army spokesman: We are ready for preemptive strikes if threatened

TEHRAN, Sept. 30 (YPA) – Iran’s army spokesman said Iranian armed forces are ready to carry out preemptive operations if an imminent threat emerges.

Brigadier General Amir Akraminia stated that Tehran will not wait to absorb a strike, declaring that any intelligence indicating an imminent threat will trigger immediate offensive action to eliminate the danger before it materializes.

He noted that Iran had previously carried out preemptive strikes targeting separatist groups in Iraqi Kurdistan.

For his part, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warned Washington that a new attack on Iran would be met with a response that was “decisive, painful, precise and swift.”

Speaking during a parliamentary session, Qalibaf addressed the United States directly: “Try it, and you will receive our response.”

He said Iran would not retreat in the face of threats or sanctions and warned that if Tehran could not sell its oil, no one else in the region would be able to sell theirs.
