Finance Minister meets WFP’s Regional Director in Sanaa

SANAA, April 23 (YPA) – Minister of Finance Dr. Rashid Abu Luhom on Tuesday met with the UN World Food Program (WFP)’s Regional Director Muhannad Hadi and the Program’s Director in Yemen Stephen Anderson.

The meeting, which was attended by Chief of the National Authority for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Dr. Qassem Abass, discussed several topics related to the program’s activities and work.

The meeting touched on the customs clearance procedures and the granting of exemptions to relief materials provided by the program.

The minister confirmed the ministry’s keenness to provide all facilities for the program’s work and all the UN organizations operating in Yemen in order to contribute to mitigating the humanitarian impact resulting from the continual war imposed on the country since March 2015.

For his part, the UN officials noted that the Program would increase its activities during the next phase according to the humanitarian response plan approved by the United Nations.
