Pakistan condemns United States’ decision over Syria’s Golan Heights

SANAA, March. 27 (YPA) – Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday strongly condemned the United States’ decision to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over Syria’s Golan Heights.

According to the Ministry statement,”the decision represents a serious violation of the UN Charter, international law and applicable UN Security Council Resolutions.”

The ministry warned the move will lead to significant negative effects on the peace process and the security and stability in Middle East region.”

On March 25, President Trump had signed a proclamation recognizing Israei occupation’s sovereignty over Syrian Golan Heights.

Israeli occupation captured the Golan from Syria in the 1967 Mideast war but its sovereignty over the territory is not recognized by the international community.
