SANAA, March 27 (YPA) – Minister of Water and Environment Nabil al-Wazeer on Wednesday discussed in Sanaa with Lise Grande, the UN humanitarian coordinator, aspects efforts to support for the water and sanitation sector in Yemen.
The meeting touched on the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Water in carrying out continuous interventions and reforms in the water and sanitation networks, as well as the topic of funding for the water and sanitation sector projects.
In this regard, al-Wazeer praised the efforts made by the UN humanitarian coordinator and her keenness to support the needs of Yemen, foremost of which are the water and sanitation projects and cholera control.
For her part, Grande coordinator stressed the importance of continuing to provide support to this sector, as it relates to citizens’ daily needs.
The UN humanitarian confirmed her readiness to search new finances to help provide energy for the projects on a continuous manner, commending efforts at the completed and being implemented projects in the provinces.
