Yemen’s Shura Council sends letter to UN’s Guterres

SANAA, Nov. 14 (YPA) – Acting Speaker of the Yemeni Shura Council, Mohammed Hussein al-Aidaros, on Wednesday sent a letter to UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, concerning Saudi-led coalition’s crimes against Yemeni people, especially in Hodeidah province.

The letter referred to the coalition’s attacks on infrastructure and vital installations, the latest of which was the attack on Hodeidah port, “the main lifeline for 27 million Yemenis and the major center that receives 90 per cent of goods, medicines and oil derivatives, in a flagrant defiance of the international humanitarian law.”

“These aggressive acts will thwart any efforts to revive the political dialogue and peace negotiations,” the letter said, calling on the United Nations to fulfill pledges of its representatives to guarantee the safety of seaports and reopen Sanaa International Airport.

The letter called on the United Nations to fulfill pledges of its representatives to guarantee the safety of seaports and reopen Sanaa International Airport.

In his letter, al-Aidaros also called on the United Nations, the Security Council and the international community to intervene quickly to stop the aggressive war on Yemen, lift the siege and end the economic war aiming at starving the Yemeni people.
