TEHRAN, May 04 (YPA) – The Iranian General Ali Abdollahi, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, issued a stern warning to the US military and foreign powers, asserting that the security and management of the Strait of Hormuz rest “exclusively” with the Iranian Armed Forces.
This comes at a time when tensions in the Gulf region have escalated following the US launch of “Project Freedom.”
Abdollahi emphasized that the passage of commercial vessels and oil tankers requires prior and direct coordination with Iranian forces to ensure their safety.
He warned US forces against attempting to enter the Strait, labeling them as “terrorist aggressors” and vowing a military strike against any attempts to approach.
The Iranian general urged Washington’s regional allies to exercise caution to avoid “irreparable regret,” stressing that the response to any aggression would be “severely harsh.”
On the political front, Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, stated that US intervention constitutes a “violation of the ceasefire.” He rejected the notion of managing the Strait through President Trump’s decisions, which he described as “delusional.”
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has maintained the maritime security threat level in the Strait at “Critical.” The agency advised shipping companies to conduct thorough risk assessments and review navigation routes before attempting passage, citing ongoing regional military operations.
