OCCUPIED PALESTINE, May 04 (YPA) – The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs said that female prisoners inside Damon prison were subjected to repeated and systematic repression campaigns, more than 10 times during the past month. These campaigns were accompanied by beatings, abuse, and the spraying of gas.
In a statement, the commission explained that Israeli prison authorities continue to apply repressive measures against Palestinian female detainees at Damon Prison, subjecting them to the same policies imposed on male prisoners, including arbitrary detention, harsh interrogations, and the denial of fair legal protections.
It added that the detainees are enduring difficult conditions, including frequent and degrading searches, collective punishment, restrictions on visits, and deprivation of basic necessities.
According to the statement, deliberate medical neglect is among the most serious violations, with treatment delays and denial of necessary examinations worsening the prisoners’ physical and psychological conditions. This is compounded by isolation policies, arbitrary transfers, and attempts to break their morale through continuous psychological pressure.
The commission noted that the number of Palestinian female prisoners in Israeli detention has reached approximately 50.
