Third US Aircraft Carrier heads to Middle East amid rising tensions

WAHINGTON, April 21 (YPA) – NBC reported that the U.S. aircraft carrier USS George H. W. Bush is en route from Madagascar to the Middle East, with its arrival expected in the coming days.

The carrier is set to join USS Abraham Lincoln, currently deployed near the Strait of Hormuz, as part of an expanding U.S. military presence in the region. It is likely to replace USS Gerald R. Ford following its extended deployment of nearly 300 days.

This movement suggested that the United States is approaching the simultaneous deployment of three carrier strike groups in the Middle East, amid rising regional tensions and uncertainty surrounding upcoming negotiations.

While the official mission centers on relieving the “Ford,” the deployment underscores Washington’s broader objective of reinforcing strategic deterrence and safeguarding maritime routes amid escalating tensions with Iran.
