Systematic threats and escalation in Al-Raqqah force Kurdish families to flee

DAMASCUS, March. 27 (YPA) – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Kurdish families in the city of Al-Raqqah, northern Syria, are facing direct threats, prompting some to sell their properties at low prices in preparation for leaving the area for fear of violations.

The Observatory explained that residents of the Kurdish quarter received these threats after speeches were broadcast in a mosque that included explicit incitement against Kurds, sparking anxiety and fear among the residents.

It added that some families were forced to liquidate their properties quickly and at very low prices, amid escalating fears of being directly targeted, coinciding with field indications of increasing violations.

In this context, the city witnessed acts of vandalism targeted Kurdish-owned properties, including an attack on a car dealership that resulted in the destruction of its contents and significant damage, a development reflecting the escalating tensions in the region.
