US Navy crew families report poor conditions, extended Middle East deployment

WASHINGTON, Aug. 09 (YPA) – Families of US Navy personnel have expressed frustration over deteriorating living conditions and prolonged deployment lengths aboard the aircraft carrier “USS Abraham Lincoln”, stationed in the Middle East and participating in operations targeting Iran in the Strait of Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking to “MS NOW”, relatives of the service members reported that the crew of over 5,000 is facing severe strain due to low morale and uncertainty regarding their return date, following a second deployment extension now entering its ninth month.

They highlighted shortages of food supplies and basic necessities, alongside degraded shipboard facilities, including malfunctioning toilets and laundry equipment, widespread mold, and extended hot water outages.
