DHAMAR, Jan. 17 (YPA) – The National Seismological Observatory Center in Dhamar announced recording a minor earthquake in the Juban District of Dhalea Governorate early Saturday morning.
This marks the fourth seismic event to strike various regions across Yemen since last Tuesday.
The tremor measured 1.9 on the Richter scale and occurred at 3:03 AM. It was classified as a non-felt (micro) earthquake.
This activity follows a string of light quakes recorded over the past few days:
1. Aden: A 3.1 magnitude tremor south of the coast (Friday).
2. Dhamar: A 2.4 magnitude tremor in the northwestern regions (Thursday).
3. Taiz: A 2.6 magnitude tremor in the Al-Janad area (Tuesday).
The Center confirmed it is maintaining 24-hour surveillance of seismic activity across Yemen to document these geological events and monitor any further developments.
