Pro-UAE factions launch military operation in Hadramout Valley

HADRAMOUT, Dec. 02 (YPA) – Pro-Emirati factions have launched a large-scale military operation over the past few hours in an attempt to invade the Hadramout Valley, which is under the factions of the Islah party.

Local sources in the Seiyun district of the province said that the factions came from the “Sah” area to advance to the areas controlled by the Islah party factions in the Hadramout Valley, but factions of the Islah Party-run first military region using artillery and tanks to repel the attempts to advance.

The sources pointed out that the current clashes prompted citizens to commit to their homes, while some residents began to leave the vicinity of the city of Seiyun.

Activists loyal to the Islah party had talked, last night, about understandings between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, according to which the areas of presence of the troops of the first Military Region would be handed over to the pro-UAE factions without any official clarification from any party.

The new attempt to advance by the pro-UAE factions comes after the forces of the first Military Region have taken a combat deployment position in various areas of the Hadramout Valley and Desert, in anticipation of an offensive operation that the UAE factions have been preparing for three days.

The situation in the province has witnessed an accelerated escalation since last Saturday, after the military factions of the Saudi-supported alliance invaded the oil-rich areas of Hadramout against the background of threats launched by the UAE components to liquidate Amr bin Habrish, the head of the Tribal Alliance, and the leader of the protection of Hadramout factions Abu Bakr al-Obthani.
