MUNICH, Nov. 09 (YPA) – About 40 pro-Palestinian activists stormed the main building of the Technical University of Munich during a demonstration in the southern German city.
A police spokesperson reported that the participants set off fireworks from the roof of the building and raised a banner. The demonstration was organized under the slogan: “Students against the complicity of the Technical University of Munich – Stop research supporting apartheid.”
After about two hours, the activists left the building after the university administration threatened to file a complaint against them for trespassing then police secured the entrances to the university building.
According to police, about 500 demonstrators participated in the march, which took place on Friday evening, parading through the streets of the Bavarian capital without further incident, while about 100 police officers were deployed to secure the event.
