GAZA, Oct. 15 (YPA) – Palestinian resistance factions have disclosed new details concerning the ongoing controversy over the fourth body handed over by the Israeli occupation authorities from Gaza.
They confirmed that the body belongs to an Israeli soldier who was captured by resistance fighters during an operation after October 7, 2023, and not as claimed by the Israeli occupation army.
This statement came in response to the Israeli military’s announcement that tests conducted by the National Institute of Forensic Medicine in “Israel” did not match the handed-over body with any known Israeli prisoners, in an attempt to deny its connection to missing soldiers.
Palestinian media outlets cited a source within the Palestinian resistance to Al Jazeera, stating: “The body the enemy claims is not Israeli belongs to a soldier captured in a resistance operation. The capture of the soldier and the transfer of his body into a tunnel were carried out by Al-Qassam Brigades during an operation in Jabalia Camp in May 2024.”
The source emphasized that the Israeli military’s statements reflect a state of confusion and deliberate misinformation aimed at both internal and external public opinion, especially given the ambiguity surrounding the fate of several soldiers missing since the start of the aggression.
This announcement serves as an official confirmation and marks a major advancement on the ground in the prisoner issue, which remains one of the most prominent cards of the Palestinian resistance.
Meanwhile, the occupation authorities persist in their silence regarding the fate of multiple soldiers missing inside Gaza.
