SANAA, Sept. 08 (YPA) – Sanaa government has accused the United Nations of “blatant bias towards the Zionist entity” for its silence on the assassination of its prime minister.
This came during the first official meeting since the incident between the acting Foreign Minister, Abdulwahed Abu Ras, and the head of the UN Special Envoy’s office in Yemen, Mohammed Al-Ghanam.
According to the official Saba news agency, the meeting covered the latest national developments and areas of cooperation between the two sides. Abu Ras asserted that the international community’s silence on the assassination of the prime minister and his companions encourages the Zionist entity to commit further “war crimes.”
He also emphasized that the UN envoy must remain neutral and “not ignore the unilateral actions taken by the aggressors’ mercenaries, which negatively affect citizens and worsen the economic and humanitarian situation.”
Abu Ras called for serious efforts to advance the peace process and demanded that the UN and all humanitarian organizations respect Yemen’s sovereignty, national laws, and the principles of humanitarian work.
For his part, Al-Ghanam reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to continuing its efforts to achieve peace in Yemen.
