ADEN, Sept. 07 (YPA) – A severe bread crisis hit the city of Aden after most bakeries stopped operating due to the dangerous measures taken by the government.
Field sources reported that some bakeries are still operating in some areas of the city, while many are unable to secure and meet the people’s needs for bread.
The sources attributed the causes of the bread crisis to the depletion of commercial flour stocks and the inability of importers to provide hard currency to import raw materials and this is the same crisis that disrupts the import of fuel for power stations, plunging the city into continuous darkness.
The flour crisis is a new episode in the context of the catastrophic service collapse that Aden is experiencing, with power outages continuing for more than 12 hours a day amid the coalition government’s inability to provide a fuel shipment for the power stations.
Residents are facing crises with the continued interruption of salaries for employees for the fourth consecutive month, which has caused most families to lose the purchasing power to meet even their most basic needs in light of the unprecedented high cost of living.
